Social relationship building and maintaining is a very competitive but high potential market for social media apps, the higher the chance that a random TikTok user has a real-life friend who is also using TikTok, the more they will interact, share and post on TikTok. Design more touchpoints for relationship mining, more fun and cool interaction ways to complete the closed loop of establishing relationships, interacting, and sedimenting relationships for users on the platform.

As TikTok first IM designer, I build the whole IM interface and interactive structure, aiming for providing a space for users social relationships to settle on the platform.

On top of this, I also built entire sticker ecosystem, encouraging UGC creators to create sets stickers, expanding the entire sticker ecosystem, and innovating fun features such as “video to sticker” and holiday limited stickers, enrich conversation content.
